MS Awareness Month

Did you know that March is MS Awareness Month? Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that affects the central nervous system, which consists of the brain, optic nerves and spinal cord. It's estimated that 2.5 million people worldwide have been diagnosed with the disease. MS damages nerves, causing patients to have visual problems, fatigue, difficulty with balance and coordination, depression and cognitive issues, and various levels of impaired mobility.

In the last several years, there has been a growing interest in using medical cannabis as a treatment for MS. Several studies have shown that both CBD and THC reduced spasticity, a common symptom of MS patients. On top of scientific research and studies, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence claiming cannabis has been helpful in treating muscle spasms, tremors, balance, bladder control, speech and eyesight.

At CCM, we believe that medical cannabis has the power to treat a wide variety of symptoms associated with debilitating diseases, including MS. If you are a patient suffering from multiple sclerosis, we encourage you to reach out to our pharmacists or dispensary agents to discuss potentials strains or products that might help treat your symptoms.
