Spotlight on CCM Staff: Ashley
This week we're putting the Charm City Medicus spotlight on Ashley, one of our hardworking Dispensary Agents! When she's not with our wonderful patients in the dispensing room, you can find Ashley helping out at reception, weighing and packaging product, photographing products for our menus and keeping our staff entertained with her "punny" jokes. Learn more about Ashley below!
What do you like most about working at Charm City Medicus?
There is a lot that I love about my job. When a patient comes in and tells me how much my recommendation helped them, thats a good feeling. It makes me feel like I am making an impact in our industry. Also, I have built wonderful relationships with my coworkers, so I basically get to hang out with my friends all day and talk about medical cannabis.
Why did you choose to work in the cannabis industry?
I always thought it would be cool to work in the industry because I do believe that cannabis is a medicine that saves lives and offers a better quality of life. Last summer I went on a road trip of a lifetime to California. I had only intended to stay a couple of weeks, until I got lucky and was offered some work on a cannabis farm. I ended up staying for 5 months and learned so much that when I came back home to Maryland, I was eager to learn more. I applied to Charm City and the rest is history!
What are some of your favorite strains/products available at CCM?
Lavender Jones By Harvest, Gelato By Verano, and any of the Prime carts
Any fun facts or hidden talents?
What are your interests/hobbies outside of work?
I love being outside — hiking, swimming, and picking up trash along the trails. At the moment, I am learning how to longboard. Luckily, I haven't had any wipeouts... yet.
Favorite musicians or genre of music?
I love music and have a very eclectic taste! Rock, Hip Hop, Blues, Classic Country, Metal, Folk...I could go on, but Incubus is one of my all time favorites. Sometimes it's nice to listen to just instrumentals, so lately I've been listening to a lot of "Chill-Hop"
What are you looking forward to this summer?
Lots of hiking and swimming, but my absolute favorite thing about summer is getting to travel and see new places. I'll be going to Asheville, NC for the fourth time and couldn't be more excited!
Any advice for new patients or those new to medical cannabis?
Your first visit can be a little overwhelming, so take your time and don't be afraid to ask questions. It's what we're here for!
